Dear Friends & Family,
As you might know, 2016 has been a tough year for us.
On Wednesday, December 21st, 7 PM at 938 Howe St., Access to Music will be holding its Annual General Meeting, which will be the last one officiated by longtime President and CEO Elka S.Yarlowe.
After a valiant and tireless two-year struggle with cancer, we regret that the time has come for her to say an official farewell to the organization that has been her sole passion and purpose since 2008.
She leaves knowing that together, we have made a difference in the lives of so many children and youth.
Access to Music will continue in strength under the new leadership of Gerhard Regier as CEO and a new board which will be elected this Wednesday. Elka will remain in an advisory capacity for as long as she is able.
Access to Music Foundation has done some amazing things over the years, of which we can all be very proud, but there is so much more that needs to be done. Elka and the rest of the A2M board urge you to continue to support Access to Music at this time. We are stronger together and there are school students, at-risk youth and needy communities who are depending on our strength to provide them with the tools for music education and creation.
Please come out on Wednesday and show your support and give Elka the opportunity to thank you all for believing in Access to Music’s work in person–perhaps for the last time.
This giving season, we also ask that you consider Access to Music Foundation for your annual gift. We are a registered charitable organization and all gifts made in December will be eligible to receive a 2016 tax receipt. Any gesture would be so appreciated at this difficult and uncertain time.
The A2M Board
